1) factoriser en détail :

  a) x³ + 3 x² - 4  pour  x = 1  on a ; 1³ + 3*1² - 4 = 0

    donc on peut écrire x³ + 3 x² - 4 = (x - 1)(a x² + b x + c)

(x - 1)(a x² + b x + c) = a x³ + b x² + c x  - a x² - b x - c

                               = a x³ + (b - a) x² + (c - b) x - c

donc    a = 1

           b - a = 3 ⇔ b = 4

           c - b = 0  ⇔ c = b

 x³ + 3 x² - 4 = (x - 1)(x² + 4 x + 4)  = (x - 1)(x + 2)²

b)  x²⁰¹⁸ - 1  ⇔ (x¹⁰⁰⁹)² - 1 = (x¹⁰⁰⁹ + 1)(x¹⁰⁰⁹ - 1)
