Explications :

Past Perfect =  had + participe passé

participe passé verbes réguliers = base verbale + ed

participe passé verbes irréguliers = 3ème colonne verbes irréguliers

On emploie ce temps pour décrire une action qui s'est  déroulée avant une autre action du passé
